Powder coating is the best way to do it. I've pretty much decided to powder coat my rims until i decide to by new rims in the future. Went with a high gloss powder coat finish on the rims.
If you haven't done it before i would recommend getting about three pounds to start with so you don't run out in the middle of the project if something goes wrong.
